What is the purpose of your site?

The sole purpose behind this site is to share my photographs with everyone and anyone.

Why not just share all those photos on social media?

I have tried, trust me. My major issues with using social media is the lack of control I have over how my work is displayed. I want to display my photos the way I want, without having my friends and family have to wade through political ads and/or sponsored targeted advertising. This site is just about my photography.

Are you a professional?

The short answer is no… I am not a professional photographer. I do not earn a living as a photographer. I have been paid for my work, but I chose those projects because they peaked my interest, not because I needed the money. I have a 9 to 5 job that pays the bills and try to keep my photography about what I find interesting, not what others find interesting.

With that said, please do not equate a professional photographer with a good photographer. Judge any photographer by their work, not by whether they call themselves a professional. I have spent, and continue to spend, many hours learning and perfecting my craft. I just choose to do so because I love it, not because my livelihood depends on it.

Can I hire you as a photographer?

Maybe. It really depends on whether your project interests me. Please don’t misunderstand, I am not saying your project is not valuable or important. I just happen to be very selective on when I take a paying job/client. I work 40+ hours a week at my job, have kids in school and activities, and a wife who likes to see my face every once in a while. My time is limited and so I choose to shoot what I want when I get the free time. Feel free to send an email, but please don’t be disappointed if I politely turn down your project.
